和束町が「日本で最も美しい村」連合へ加盟しました

10月4日、島根県海士町で開催された「日本で最も美しい村」連合の臨時総会において、和束町が52番目の加盟団体として承認されました。

京都府内では、伊根町に続き2件目で、加盟するにあたり、「茶源郷としての茶畑と瓦屋根の集落景観」と「鎌倉時代から継承する茶文化」を守る町づくりが評価されました。

今回の加盟を契機に、今後は、住民の皆さんとともに、和束町の豊かな地域資源を一層活用し、将来にわたって美しい地域づくりを行っていきたいと考えていますので、ご協力をお願いします。

「日本で最も美しい村」連合は、失われつつある美しい町や村の農山村景観や文化などを守り、また、これらを活用することを目的に、2005年に北海道の美瑛（びえい）町長が会長となって、徳島県上勝町や長野県大鹿村など7町村で結成されました。

本年、新たに和束町のほか3町村1地域が加わり、全国で54団体となりました。

2.The "Most Beautiful Villages in Japan" Union was established in 2005 by the mayor of Biei,

Hokkaido, with the aim of protecting and utilizing the landscapes and culture of beautiful towns and villages that are disappearing. The mayor as chairman, it was formed in 7 towns and villages such as Kamikatsu Town in Tokushima Prefecture and Oshika Village in Nagano Prefecture.

This year, in addition to Wazuka Town, 3 towns and 1 area have been added, bringing the total to 54 groups nationwide.

素晴らしい地域資源を持ちながら過疎にある美しい町や村が、「日本で最も美しい村」連合を宣言することで自らの地域に誇りを持ち、将来にわたって美しい地域づくりを行うこと、住民によるまちづくり活動を展開することで地域の活性化を図り、地域の自立を推進すること、また、生活の営みにより作 られてきた景観や環境を守り、これらを活用することで観光的付加価値を高め、地域の資源の保護と地域経済の発展に寄与することを目的としています。

3.The purpose of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Japan" Union
Beautiful towns and villages that are decreased in population while having wonderful local resources take pride in their own area by declaring the "Most Beautiful Villages in Japan" alliance, to create beautiful areas in the future, and to carry out community development activities by residents.  We aim to revitalize the region, promote the independence of the region, protect the landscape and environment created by daily life, and increase the added value of tourism by utilizing these to contribute to the protection of resources and the development of the local economy.
